Tragically, Bruce died during the making of Game of Death. Complaining of a headache (he had suffered from seizures and headaches months prior), Bruce was given Equagesic, a painkiller to combat headaches.

Upon returning to Hong Kong, he was surprised at his popularity and fame – it turns out his one season as Kato on The Green Hornet made him a Hong Kong celebrity overnight.
